Hello, I found this issue that there is some graphic glitching on the kid, well, more specific through out the game near the snowman but seems to extends the more i get away from it. Also the leash is invisble for some reason.
I have a computer with pretty strong graphics and I am running it on windows 11
Does anyone has this same issue?
Hi! It happens the same to me, with similar tech specs. It seems like something related to the textures of the kid, but I’m not sure.
That was so cute! As I was playing through it my partner leaned in and asked what this pretty thing was. So, there.
<3
Very cool stuff!
I love you blender!
The game's presentation, gameplay, and sense of physics is amazing, but I wish I could disable the built-in controller detection.
Even though it's set in a winter forest, what a heartwarming and lovely creation!
There’s no dialogue, but that just makes the joy between the dog and the child come through even more clearly—it was really wonderful.
I also loved the behind-the-scenes footage in the credits! It gave me a deep appreciation for how it was made. (=^・ω・^=)
Also, in version 1.02, I encountered a bug where the leash got stuck inside the snowman when I was playing around by wrapping the leash around it in the opening scene.
Sorry that happened! This is still a bug that can occasionally happen. We didn't find a fix for it yet but if you keep pulling or interact with the kid, the leash will get un-stuck.

beautiful game
Now do it in Blender Game Engine. :D
amazing
not bad for a small game ig
this is so wonderful! proud of you guys <3
Can someone explain how and why an ethnic slur (pinda) was picked as the name of one of the main characters? The dog being named after a Dutch brand of chocolate milk clearly sets the language domain, leaving little to no room for alternative interpretations.
...
your wiktionary link says "pinda" means "peanut"
That is sense 1, yes, the literal meaning. When applied to a person however, it is exclusively interpreted in the 4th sense. Look harder. Saying it's not a slur because it means peanut is like saying spade isn't a slur because it means shovel.
"Sense 4 is from the pejorative term pindachinees from the 1930s, which was later applied even more pejoratively to people from East Asia in general, including Indonesians who came en masse to the Netherlands in the late 1940s.
[...]
4. (derogatory, ethnic slur) people from East Asia, most commonly Chinese and Indonesians"
It just a name.
It depends on context.
You wouldn't say that about any slur you're familiar with, I hope.
Well, exactly... with the context being either object or person.
I can imagine a kid named Nerus (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%BD%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%83%D1%81%D1%8C ) or Moskal (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C#Ukrainian ), for example, and see no problem here because it’s just a name.
There are 4 meanings of this word, according to Wiktionary, and 1 of them related to chocolate.
No, none relate to chocolate, and 3 of the 4 meanings are effectively the same, since they all refer to the plant or part of it.
Sorry, my bad.
But You still thinks that it’s a slur.
Obviously, those 3 senses are not. 🤦
So why You chose only 1 offensive meaning of the word?
super cute game! I loved all of the interactions between the boy and the dog, especially the face licking and lay down idle animation. I thought they were so cute! I also loved the really fun style, and thought it was really awesome to be shown a little bit of the game making process at the credits.
This was such a nice change of pace and I could see this being develop into something much larger. Great pacing and size. Thank you for making this awesome and delightful game. <3
game runs at like 12fps smh…
…lol, I’m just joking. I like that everything intentionally feels like stop-motion animation. extremely high production value for a short, free game. I also like the real footage at the end showing the game’s development, but I saw a couple things that apparently got cut or changed, like the characters being 2d animations or the river also being more of a hand-painted material.. game would’ve been even better with those things kept the same imo. regardless though, this was a fun and adorable little game.
Art Director of the game here :)
The 2D characters were really quick placeholders I made during the prototyping phase, so we could have something that represents the states of the characters and have it more testable. I love games like Don't Starve (modded it for years!) and Knights and Bikes, that have 2D character a in 3D(-ish) environment, but we knew that our strenght as a studio is in 3D assets and 3D animation. We also wanted the characters to have mhm...volume in the world for game feel reasons for this particular game. Would love to return to 2D sprites sometime in the future tho!
As for the river, it uses three watercolor textures (underwater ground, earthy shore and snowy egdes) plus a scan of cling foil, that we snatched from the kitchen for the water surface. The setup allows for light passing through the "water" surface. Maybe you saw the path texture in the outro being repeated to make the pathways? The river is that just a bit more complicated^^.
Thank you for playing and commenting :))
yeah i might’ve seen the path texture being stretched along a spline and assumed it was the river lol. the 3d characters make sense though now that you explained about game feel, I totally get it! thanks for the in-depth reply!
This game is so cute!!!! I love the cuteness and art style! Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love the art style! So cool to see a game made with Blender and running on Godot ❤
really inspiring work. GG🎉
the game is really adorable and it was awesome to see the process of creating the game at the end. please continue making this kinda games. very very unique style for sure
It was really cozy. You just walk around as this big fluffy dog in the snow, and the little kid follows you everywhere. I liked that you could go anywhere and do whatever, like finding stuff or just running around. The world feels small but really nice to look at. It’s not a long game but it made me smile the whole time. Just a simple and good game with no stress.
blender i will love you 5ever
The first step towards even better integration between two great free & open source software juggernauts!
And I'm not even a dog person. 😻
No game has ever left this kind of impact on me before. Put this on the Nintendo for money!! This is so cool!
absolutely not. they should not and i say again SHOULD NOT put this on nintendo and make it paid. that goes completely against everything this game is meant to be.
They could leave it free elsewhere and *also* put it on nintendo for money.
i completely agree, im just saying that im honestly shocked by how good this game i
you shouldnt be surprised when you enjoy a game, its being normalized to make bad games paid, these kinds of games should be the standard, not $80 on the switch 2. all of you that downvoted me, i hope you enjoy being a shill to greedy corpo losers.
Looks cute
When people gather together to make something this cute and for free.
We all love it.
This was a very cute experience, thank you !
It was very fun and cute :)
Also, a shout-out to Krita!
Indeed!!
Krita is awesome. I use it for all of my art and wouldn’t have it any other way. That said though, aren’t the textures and stuff in this game all painted in traditional watercolor? Where was krita used for this…?
We do use Krita all the time! For putting the scanned watercolor things together, paintovers and touchups in the case of this project :)
这个游戏真的很不错!
可以说,这是Blender和Godot两个开源软件的梦幻联动。
在这里,为Blender工作室点赞!:)
Amazing game! I really like art, gameplay, story and sound! All the details (both visual and animation are fantastic). Credits are also really nice. The whole workflow is really cool: especially real life asset creation and digitalization. Thank you! Looking forward to see more from Blender developers and studio.
Make a build in HTML, so we can test it directly in the browser.
I doubt that this is really GPL licensed. Normally the source code should be provided with the binary, which is not the case. Apart from that, I could not find an official reference from Blender Studio to this itch page leaving me a bit suspicious whether this is actually an authentic release page.
edit: The license is now MIT and there is a link from the official blog post to this page. Thank you for clearing that up and taking those issues seriously :)

There is no requirement whatsoever for GPL-licensed source code to be provided with the binary. It just has to be available to recipients of the binary.
it is the other way around. there is no requirement to provide a binary, but if we do have the binary, the source code needs to be provided as well
The license file in the source says it's CC BY-4.
CC4 for the graphical assets
GPLv3 for the programming code
Also see https://itch.io/post/13347732
But not in the same download as the binary. Even burning it on a DVD where you pay for shipping and the DVD would be a viable way of providing the source code.
this only applies to distribution in a physical object (section 6c.1 of the gplv3) but what applies here is (at least how i see it) section 6d which reads as follows:
> Convey the object code by offering access from a designated place (gratis or for a charge), and offer equivalent access to the Corresponding Source in the same way through the same place at no further charge.
(this is only an excerpt)
the "equivalent access" is what i think is not given, since we have gratis access to the binary, but not to the source code.
but they promised to clear that up soooo...
cute game btw
Sorry for the confusion. We'll make sure to include the links to the itch store page more consistently in our posts to make it look more legit.
The license of our sources is a bit muddled. We'll try to clear that up asap. The full production repository is CC-BY since it mostly includes the original art assets. The source code (scripts) are licensed as MIT.
All of these assets are available to download through our website but we didn't make the original git repository public (same for any of our other projects).
Despite not being in violation of the MIT license, charging extra for obtaining the source code makes it neither free software nor open source, according to how the FSF and OSI define these terms. Reported as miscategorized.
When I found out that if you remain idle, you lie down and the child walks over to pet the dog, my heart melted. A very cute, creative game.
Adorable
Lovely and cute game!
A lovely open game from the lovely open movies studio <3
FOSS PIPELINE ROCKS!!
